Spontaneous Camping Adventure

These pics were taken a couple of weeks ago (october 08) just prior to Halloween. We went for a little boat ride with "daddy" and came upon a great little spot on a small island in the Gulf. SOOOOO.... we ran home to grab the tent and supplies- threw everything in the boat and set off for a camping adventure. It was great! Not at all like the last time -when we had to call 911 in the middle of the night and try to explain where we were. (wilderness camping) "yes, 911? we are aboute of nowhere, with no roads, and we need an ambulance!" (another blog for another day) This time however, went quite well. The sky was clear and the stars were out so the boys got an astronomy lesson from their dad. (he's full of useless information) KIDDING! We roasted marshmellows on the fire. The boys had the important task of gathering firewood. The next morning the tide went out so far that we could walk out on the bottom of the ocean floor. All kinds of birds came to feast on the creatures that were left crawling around. It was a great school day with hands on marine biology!
