Springtime Babies- It's A Brand New Great Horned "Owlet"

Just like E.T. -this little baby owlet is so ugly, he's cute! Actually, he's beautiful! I feel very fortunate to have gotten this shot. I know the quality of the shot could be better- but, I was shooting from a boat. On the water. The kind that moves and isn't very close to the trees on the shoreline. So, all in all I am very happy with it! I actually have a better shot, but I can't get it to load for some reason (operator error I am certain).

Happy Spring Everyone! Keep your eyes and ears open for new life joining us this season! It's always such a treat for us as we come across wildlife, and even more so when they are brand new to the world! Spring brings new life in the flora and fauna and breathes new life into us as well. Get out and enjoy it if you can.  "HOO"s nesting in your yard?

(I really can't help myself)

I have a container of baby owl feathers from those that nested across the street from our houses on Annapolis. When they molted, I picked them up all over, thinking I would frame a picture I took of them and glue feathers to the frame. I don't think I will ever use them. Can I mail them to you for your boys? They are so soft and downy. Private message me with your address and I will put them in them in the mail on Monday.

Hi Kelli! Thanks so much for visiting my blog and introducing yourself! How cool that you are starting down the very exciting, very crazy, very mysterious journey of book-writing! I loved what you had to say - about being authentic. So much truth there. :)

I know we were all astonished at the chips deal. You are so right though. This is definitely not for someone with a history of a bad heart, HBP, High Cholesterol and definitely not a weight loss meal. Hence, reason I do not eat sides. The healthy ones are hard to come by! I still want everyone to enjoy themselves every now and then though. LOL

Well, no one is nesting in my yard for I have no trees or grass at the moment. Need help, need landscaping, we have been here 6 months! I just want to scream when thinking about all the things that need to be done still. Good pics though.

What a fun picture! I think it is an awesome shot - rocking boat - zoom lense, etc. I am impressed!

We have robins!! Love spring and your reminder to keep our ears open for the signs as the audible ones often come before the visible. :)
