In our homeschool this week . . . our letter of the week is: Ll is for . . . Maine Lobster and Louisiana

Maine Lobster and Louisiana were looked up on the map - we learned the capital of each state and talked about various interesting points of each region. The boys colored in our State Coloring Book as we discussed them. (They weren't real excited about the coloring - as you might be able to tell from their less than stellar work - but it kept them occupied as we discussed each state and that was the important part)

Helpful homeschooling tips or advice to share…We make up little rhymes to help them remember the capitals. The "Main thing for them to remember about Maine is Mom's birthday is in August - the Main thing is my birthday in August = Augusta Maine"

Places we’re going and people we’re seeing… our oldest boy is out of town with his cousins. They had a great day at 6 Flags - mine is the silly boy with the orange creature on his head!
