Just taking time for a walk in the woods together makes for special family memories and time to learn about each other and about the world around you!
The park has a small nature center/ museum that is manned by friendly and well informed volunteers who (patiently) teach about local wildlife and flora.
Be as active as you like! Ride your bike on the extensive trails, (not all are paved) or just hang out and throw sticks in the water!
There are a couple of playgrounds for the kiddies, plenty of trees to climb, kayaks and canoes for rent, and even a swimming lake during the warm weather.
Mom and dad had time to read and chat, and the boys got dirty enough to please Huck Finn himself, (thankfully there are showers available for campers).
After some steak cooked over the fire and way too many roasted marshmallows- we each have our individual preferences in getting just the right "scald" on them- the boys hit the hay- well, the sleeping bags- for a solid nights sleep.
Oscar Scherer is great for a day trip and a picnic if you live nearby and is worth the effort even if you don't.

Looks like so much fun. We have put camping on hold for a few months until it warms back up here. I'm jealous of the Florida weather.
