"The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth His handiwork."
Psalm 19:1
He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heaven by his understanding. Jeremiah 51:15
The Creator of the universe . . .
created US in HIS image! Seriously!
The Creator of the universe . . .
created US in HIS image! Seriously!
Genesis 1:27
"And God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him,
male and female, created He them."
How cool is that?
The utmost expert in creativity actually created us in His image!
And THAT, my friends- makes us Creative beings.
What in the world does all this have to do with this series on
"Exploring God's Creation" ???
Well, here's the thang- by studying the creation
we can better know the Creator!!!
Spending time out in nature can give us a closer relationship with the Lord.
I'm sure that it's not a requirement of having a relationship with Him
but, what I've learned about creativity in general tells me that the one doing the
creating puts a bit of themselves into each of their creations.
The artist, be it with paint or with words, digs deep down within themselves to
interweave their message - feelings, thoughts, beliefs, personality
(you get the picture?) into each piece they fashion.
How much more heart and soul then did our Creator put into His ultimate design?
A few simple ways we could get out to explore Creation this week:
- talk a walk with the family
- bring a camera and a notebook
- take your time
- stop and smell the roses, or even just appreciate the pretty weeds
- notice something new in your surroundings
- look for the minute details in nature (designs on a butterfly)
- breathe deeply and inhale some of the Creator
- be grateful for His creation and share those thoughts with your family
- do some research (field journal, google, library) on something you've seen outdoors
Job 35:11
"Who teaches us more than the beasts of the earth,
and makes us wiser than the fowls of heaven."

absolutely stunning pictures. In my Sunday school lesson yesterday for ages 6-8, I talked about how God is glorious. "glory" is such a hard thing for them to grasp so young....but I took them outside, had them see, touch, smell all the Natural world around them - to demonstrate how glorious God is. That He made each and every thing that surrounds us every day.
Wonderful post.
thank you for reminding me about the beauty we live in...God's beauty. Recently I got so sad about the way the world has become and all the terrible things happening, that it is refreshing to think about the glory of His creation.

Love this post! I look out at our October blue sky and think that God loved us so much that He made this beautiful world for US to enjoy! He is such a good God!
I couldn't agree, nodding my head yes, yes more enthusiastically than I am right now.
Thank you all girls- It's obviously something we feel strongly about!
Found your blog- we are new to home schooling this year!
