#31days of Exploring God's Creation - Day 25 - Perspective, It's #Relevant

Linking up with other #31dayers here

Day 25 - Perspective
(It's #Relevant *wink)

As it does with most other things in life. . .  attitude can make or break an adventure!
How you choose to view something changes the whole atmosphere. As a mother, my attitude
generally sets the tone for the entire family. It matters how I see things.
My children take their cues from me.
(husband does too, but don't let on like you know- o.k?)

When I approach our adventures with enthusiasm and joy . . .

It catches on and the family gets excited about whatever lies before us!

They become passionate about exploring God's creation . . .

and the whole world open up to them!

If you are eager to explore and learn in nature- your family will most likely follow suite.
One can always  find things to be unhappy about (heat, bugs, humidity, sand everywhere)
A mom could get down right snippy!

Or you can focus on the positive and soak up the beauty God has provided for us to enjoy. . .

If you've had a bad experience in the past or are afraid to get out there with the kiddos to
explore God's creation . . . Change your perspective . . .
You can do it! God will guide you- Give it to Him!
Work on your approach. You may be surprised at how quickly the family will follow.
I've never found anything  that changes my attitude, and that of my boys, faster than
spending time with each other as we worship Him and admire His creation.

Psalms 8:3-4 “When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?” (KJV)

Job 12:7-10 “Ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds of the air, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish of the sea inform you. Which of these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.”

*linking up to the Blog Bash 2011 because I have to change my perspective and stop pouting about the fact that I cannot make it to #Relevant11 :)

Hello ladies! I'm blogging from sunny Southwest Florida - I live here at the beach with
my husband, Mark (aka- Captain Daddy) and our three boys - We are a camping, kayaking, hiking kind of family enjoying our homeschool life as we explore God's creation.

I walked these beaches as a girl on vacation with my family and asked God to allow me to live here one day with a family of my own. He is good, He is faithful- even though I was not. He has blessed me with a man who is kind and good, who puts God and family first.

It is so much more than I deserve. My boys, two by birth, one by adoption- are precious gifts, lively, spirited, intelligent, sweet young men who face life with courage and are developing a heart for their Creator.

We have our struggles. The economy is tough on the self-employed. I've suffered an invisible illness for the past 10 years and fight the pain and fatigue of RA every day. One of our boys, is in need of prayer and healing from issues that are no fault of his own.

Yet we are covered in His Grace, and I see Him working each day in a powerful way - When things are tough, we look up and we go down to the beach and stick our toes in the sand - and spend time being grateful as we appreciate the beauty of His creation. Sometimes the sunsets are just for me! :)

I hope you have a fabulous time together at Relevant! Thank you to WLW for allowing me to have a peak behind the scenes  - I'm with y'all in spirit and look forward to getting to know some kindred spirits linking up with WLW!

God Bless,                                                            *also linking with Wordless Wednesday

What a great family time together on the beach. Was that alligator shot taken from as close as it appears?

How right you are. The mother does set the tone. Something I need to remember.

Sending prayers for you and your son for healing.

Hi Kelli, thanks for visiting my blog last week for the KJV Series. I'm behind on replying (its been crazy busy for me the last couple weeks). I saw you were joining in the Blog Bash- you have some great pics in this post and I agree with about us Moms setting the tone in our homes! I've seen this happen in my own, I believe...in particularly with my husband. What a responsibility God has given us women. I'll look forward to your Tweets too.

Oh how true this is. How many times have I seen this in my own family. Something I need to diligently pray about.

Jennifer, the alligator shot was not quite as close, I did use my zoom, I was standing on the side of the road and she was walking into the culvert - so, it was close enough! :)

Kelli - this is a beautiful post - all around - in encouraging words, HIS word and your gorgeous photos. I will pray for you and your RA. I've suffered from inflammatory arthritis since I was a teen. It can be very discouraging - especially when you want to walk out in God's creation! But, as you say, it's all in perspective. Love the shot of your feet up at the beach! Glad to know you weren't that close to the gator. Whew!

Great post! Yes God can help our attitude - to keep it positive! I have definitely noticed that a positive attitude definitely rubs off on kids too! Keep up the great work! (:
