How DO I KNOW . . . there IS a God???

Two words. . .

"the human eye"

. . .  OK, that's three words- but, seriously- have you studied the human eye?

God is in the details -

the brain, the flowers, animals, sunset- space-

everything I see points me to an intelligent DESIGNER, not AN ACCIDENT.

(The camera could not completely capture the true beauty of this moment- but the eye did!)

Although I originally took a small "step" of faith in seeking God -

HE closed in the gap and reaches out to me on a regular basis.

I just had to be willing to acknowledge His presence, and take that small step of faith.

As my belief grew -  the "relationship" was nurtured and grew. As I continue to spend time in prayer, time reading God's Word - it continues to grow and I experience a deeper, richer, more rewarding (and real) relationship.

That is how relationships work. We take a step toward someone - They accept and move toward us. . . closing the gap. With a little trust, time, and effort, we can even know one another well!

Knowing your Creator works much the same. Communication is the key!

Relationship

It is real, and it is a powerful, gut wrenching, heart cleansing, life altering, joy filled moment when you recognize and acknowledge
His voice, His tugging at your heart. . . . .

His Presence

So, although it begins with faith "the size of a mustard seed" He is faithful to reveal Himself -

He does not expect us to go "blindly" stumbling along believing in something we cannot KNOW -

we CAN KNOW HIM!  isn't it awesome???

There is nothing better than seeing this in my children- and, for me, another "proof" of Him is when I share some small "child size tid-bit" about Him . . .  and my children  return with SO much more of an indepth understanding than  what is possible WITHOUT the Holy Spirit-

It blows me AWAY!

This week of Thanksgiving - I'm taking time to stop daily and count my blessings - In the midst of the
hustle and bustle that  inevitably comes along with the holidays. . . I want to slow down enough to really
be there in the moment- to be in His presence - and to share that love with my family.

I want that for you too!

God bless- and may you Know His love and enjoy His presence today!

Revelation 3:20
"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door,
I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me."

Today I am grateful :

#41 For His faithfulness in making Himself known to me
#42 Seeing God working in the hearts of my children
#43 Food on the table
#44 Ancestors making the journey
#45 Freedom to worship Him as I see fit
#46 Precious family time with extended family
#47 Watching cousins play together
#48 Children loud, laughing
#49 Husband working, working hard, always willing
#50 To be in His presence. . .

Happy Thanksgiving!

My goals this week are a little bit OFF and a little bit ON! :)
Because of the Holiday - we are off schedule, but I've managed to remember to drink part of the
water I need to be drinking - I've been pretty active (um, busy) We haven't done Bible reading
EVERYDAY, but we have been focused on gratitude and being thankful to God
for our blessings each day! (love doing that as a family)
Blog schedule is a little behind, but moving forward- as are my goals! :)
Do you have goals? Check out the ladies from 3in30 for encouragement & planning tips!

Love, love your photos!

I have to tell you this. For Owen's birthday a couple days ago, our church sent him an e-card. After I showed it to him on my computer, he looked at me with this huge smile on his face and said, "Isn't God nice?"

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

I'm so glad you found my blog or I might never have found yours! There are so many good ones out there and not enough hours to sort through it all! I LOVE that you call yourself an "accidental homeschooler" I feel the same way! Actually we had the same type of conversation in our home today about how we can know that God is real and eyes were a part of the discussion. We were actually making "fast forming fossils" from sponges and epsom salts and food coloring today :) I hope to hear more from you personally and indirectly via reading your blog posts :) Nice to meet you too!
