Journey Through Ephesians - Ultimate Love

           Ephesians 4: 1-16

The memory verse for the study this week is:
Ephesians 4: 2 "with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love"  The chapter grabbed my attention right away as Paul began in verse one with:
"I beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called"
In order to be worthy of the calling to which I've been called. . .
 . . . I  Must  Love

The Amplified Bible puts it as such: "Living as becomes you] with complete lowliness of mind (humility) and meekness (unselfishness, gentleness, mildness), with patience, bearing one another and making allowances because you love one another."
Paul goes on to talk about the fact that the reason for all this love is to keep the unity or fellowship
of the body of Christ. He tells us that we, as followers of Christ Jesus, are all part of the same body
 - with one Spirit.

"one Lord, one faith, one baptism: one God, and Father of all,
who is above all and through all, and in you all"
"But to each one of us grace was given
according to the measure of Christ's gift."

What an amazing God we have! Even though we are all one body - one Spirit - He doesn't fail
to see us as unique individuals and give us His unmerited grace "in proportion to the measure
of Christ's [rich and bounteous] gift."

Rich and bounteous hardly begins to scratch the surface of the measure of Christ's gift
He gave it all - His whole life - all that He had to give. To know that He gives us grace in proportion
to "all of Himself" is difficult - if not impossible to  comprehend.

Romans 5:8
"But God commended His love towards us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

It's because of this grace and the depths of His love that I am able, capable of rising up to be the woman He has called me to be - not from any qualities of my own - but in spite of them - because of Him.

"I beseech you to walk worthy of the calling
with which you were called" Eph. 4:1

We are called to Love!

Our Bible verse in our Homeschool this week is:
Ephesians 4: 2 "with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering,
bearing with one another in love"

One body, yet individual. God is wonderful, isn't He? Some great thoughts.

Ephesians is full of treasures. It always overwhelms me. Thanks for sharing.

(And I am a homeschooling mom of three boys, too!)

I always struggle with that part that says "walk worthy." It's my heart's desire, but I often feel so unworthy. When those feelings become overwhelming, I have to go back and remember that I'm covered by His love and grace. Thanks for the beautiful post, Kelli.

Just checking in with my fellow brave warrior sister. Ephesians is my favorite book, and it's been fun hearing your voice through the Word. Sending you love, Friend.

I went to bed thinking about this last night...about how the Bible tells us all is useless without love...that we have to love others...and I pondered...why Did God have to tell us so many times to love? Oh, because me....I'm selfish and to love means to be selfless...but, he's putting some amazing people in my life (like you)...who are teaching me....I can love and be loved!

Preach it, girl.

This, right here needs to be burned in my memory:

"...not from any qualities of my own - but in spite of them - because of Him."

A-to-the-Men!

Really, really glad you linked. Your words bless.
