Kids in the Kitchen - #14 LinkUP

Welcome to Kids in the Kitchen!
I'm partnering with my friend Carrie @YoungLivingOilLady to bring you this family friendly
recipe link up. We hope to encourage families to get into the kitchen together - cook, laugh, eat!
Healthier food is cooked at home - with extra doses of love

Our recipe this week: Beef Stroganogff

First things first - recruit your help and have them chop some onions and mushrooms
we love fresh green onions - we added regular yellow onion to the beef to simmer as well

Brown ground beef - or steak strips (1 1/2 lbs - 2 lbs) in skillet - start big pot of water to boil for egg noodles - I add a touch of olive oil and bit of salt to the water and boil noodles - when meat is almost finished browning add mushrooms and onions to saute with beef - when the onions begin to become translucent - remove beef mushroom mixture from stove and add 2 TBS flour to pan with drippings and stir - add 1 can beef broth and stir into flour - add meat mixture back into skillet and add 1 can of cream of mushroom soup to mixture + 1 cup of sour cream and simmer - drain noodles and spoon generous heapings of stroganoff onto the noodles - sprinkle with green onions!

Recruit some more help to make dessert! We had a new toy to try out - so we mixed up a cake
(from a box - but don't tell anyone - it might ruin my reputation!)
Scrumptious - yummy - fudge - cake pops

We had a ball with our new handy dandy cake pop machine!
You can always just make mini cupcakes to go with our delicious fudgy topping

It really is THAT kinda good!
Melt 1 1/2 cups mini semi sweet chocolate chips in glass microwave safe dish
(or use a double boiler) heat in 30 second intervals and stir in between - when chocolate is beginning to
melt - add in 1 1/2 cups of mini marshmallows and heat for 30 second intervals add in 1 1/2 cups of powdered sugar (it helps to sift it - but we were in a hurry ) stir it all up really well while trying NOT
to drool into the measuring cup - I hate it when that happens!

Dip your sticks into chocolate then place on cake pop and dip - roll the whole thing in yummy
(makes yer tongue slap yer brains out kinda good) fudge sauce.
For sheet cake or cupcakes - just pour it over the top and try to wait a few minutes before eating!

We were going to roll them in sprinkles - but we just didn't have the patience for it!

Grab a button - link up your favorite family friendly recipes - and hop over to visit a couple of
