Kids N Kitchen - Link Up #12 - Candy Sushi

Welcome to Kids in the Kitchen!

Carrie from Young Living Oil Lady and I are teaming up to encourage
families to spend time in the kitchen and get back to the table together!

This past week - we enjoyed spending time out in the country with friends - While we were there we
shared several fun "cooking sessions" in the kitchen but the most fun was making "candy sushi"

We made regular Rice Krispie Treats by following the recipe on the box of cereal :

With a little help from our friends we then spread it in a cookie sheet nice and evenly
we used a sheet of waxed paper in the bottom of the pan and
a sheet of clear plastic on top to evenly press

Kids helped out by cutting candy pieces of orange slices and other fruit flavored candy

Place gummy worms along one edge of rice krispies - use wax paper to begin rolling tightly

When you have a nice roll around the gummy worms - cut off the log roll
and cover it with fruit roll up

Cut roll into "sushi size" bites and use some rectangle sized treats to make "Sushi-mi"
Decorate with candy pieces - we also made fondant "shrimp and salmon" to go on top

Decorating is great - but it's not the most fun part. . .

Eating them is the most fun part - of course!

Grab a button from below or from code on my side bar:

Link up your family friendly recipes, visit a couple of others who link up to
encourage each other - and let's bring the family back to the table!
Happy Cooking!

Happy to be linking with:
