Kids In The Kitchen #13 Link Up!

Welcome! Thank you for joining us on Kids in the Kitchen
- I'm partnering with Carrie@YoungLivingOilLady
To bring you this "family friendly recipes" link up. There are no kids required in the pics - but we sure do think they're cute! We want to see families cook and eat together on a regular basis. Please grab a button - link up your recipes - and be sure to visit at least a couple of others who share! Let's encourage families to come back to the family table!

Our recipes this week:

Did you celebrate Cinco de Mayo?
We enjoy Tex-Mex on a regular basis - we made this fun meal with friends the other night-

Tacos and Nachos

Our silly friend David cooked up some ground beef and added a packet of taco seasoning - (these were not the "from scratch" homemade kind of tacos- just a fun and easy kind from the box)
Everybody had a job to do - from opening packages of "Wholy Guacamole"

To Spreading out the taco shells
And spreading out the nacho chips on the tray - the tin foil makes for an
easy clean up! We had chopping and tearing and spreading going on all over the place

Lettuce (we prefer to rip up our lettuce) makes a healthy addition to nachos and tacos alike
We added chopped green onions to the nachos which were loaded with mucho queso!
Other available toppings were tomato, onion, lettuce, salsa, sour cream, and guacamole - YUMMY!
Cook shells according to directions- nachos: cook in 350 degree oven until cheese is melted 10 -15min

We have Taco Tuesday almost every week, though my kids would eat tacos every day if I'd let them. They're definitely a family-friendly meal!

Linking up my Snickerdoodles Recipe today. Since you don't need a mixer, and get to roll the dough, it's a fun kid recipe to try. Sorry no pics with the kids this week. Will plan better for next week. ☺ Happy Tuesday!

We did celebrate Cinco de Mayo, which is also my husbands birthday by going out to a local Mexican restaurant in our town. YUMMY!

I'm visiting you for the first time from the Hip Homeschool Hop. I'll go find a recipe to link up with you as well. Looks like fun.

Come see us at Layers-of-learning.com
