Our Homeschool Weekly Wrap Up - Summer Fun

In my life this week…

I told you last week I had a big announcement . . . .

I'm a new member of the Homeschool Mosaics team! I'm so excited about it and I'll be sharing
"Exploring Science - Naturally" with you. We love science and we love exploring - so it's a great fit!

We're cooking this week…

Stir fry for Kids in the Kitchen - link up your favorite recipes each Tuesday!
Little helpers #kidsinthekitchen kicking off #FathersDay weekend the right way! #stirfry #recipe

Join us this week…

Share pictures and ideas of what your family is up to this summer!
We are doing some bird watching - these cute Mama and baby quail were spotted in our yard this week

Favorite thing this week…

#hsmommas It has just occurred to me that all 3 of my babies just left the ground - & I'm still standing here! What? #swfl #homeschool
We met new friends at the pool and they invited us to join the Young Eagles
I'm so glad we did! They gave the kids a tour of the airport - taught then a bit about aviation
and then - took them for a plane ride!

Now all the boys want to be pilots!

Letter of  this week…

"R" is for  Reach for the Sky!

Big brother in the cockpit #youngeagle #swfl #adventurezinchildrearing#youngeagle 's Ready 4 takeoff!! #swfl #adventurezinchildrearing

ok- so that may not be a perfect fit - but "aiming" and "reaching" are similar - right?

How about - "R" is for Reaching High - Really Exciting!  - or "Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" (that would be the engine and the noise I've been hearing around my house constantly since the experience!)
"R" is for Ready for Take-off!

We are blogging through the alphabet with Marcy from Ben and Me

Freebies and Fave Resources…

Checking the weather program with the pilot before their flight - they learned how the pilots
check weather systems specially for each take off
Checking the weather during their Pre-Flight training with Young Eagles #homeschool Adventure to remember! #swfl

The EAA has chapters all over the country.
Find out if there is a Young Eagles program in your area here  - Free flight for kiddos

FREE bowling all summer long - Kids bowl free  - find a center near you!

$1 Movies - Regal Cinema

3 in 30 goals …

I've managed to get a few things accomplished this week -
1. Organization - I put a dent in the homeschool organization - we are moving most of our homeschool room back upstairs - I've also gotten through a HUGE stack of paperwork - met with the accountant and ordered copies of official documents for our records
2. Schedule - I am balancing things a bit better - despite physical limitations - these summer storms are rough on my RA, but I'm moving around some anyway and getting the boys out for $1 movie day, bowling, and the pool each week
3. Spiritual life-  I've had some sweet ladies on my heart - I am enjoying our Proverbs 31 group and the encouragement and honesty from some of the women there is amazing to me. I am praying for each of them and others God has sent my way.

What a fun hands-on week for your boys this week. There's nothing like a first flight in an single-engine plane. Even as an adult, it's exciting!
