Ok, so the picture above pretty much tells the story. Cash envelopes and a prepared list
will keep you on budget for grocery shopping - or any other shopping that must be done.

People often ask me how I manage to feed 3 growing boys, a husband, and run a household on 50$ - 75$ each week. Yes, that includes toiletries. Along with planning ahead, using some coupons, and shopping the BOGO's , it's important to make a list and stick to it,
and most of all . . . . USE CASH.
By setting aside a set amount of cash in an envelope each week - you WILL stick to that budget. You simply don't buy anything else.
Once you have been shopping the BOGO's for awhile, you will have some built up staples and you will only be purchasing what you need, and replenishing supplies. There will even be room for ice cream and other treats.
It's important to not think of it as "restrictive", but to see it as a fun challenge - get the family involved in planning meals with what is on sale. Make it fun. Make it a regular part of your life routine. There is freedom in being on a budget that comes from a successful plan of attack. When you begin to make headway - or even just begin to make ends meet - you will feel a sense of accomplishment and know that you are helping your family in a big way!
