Kids in the kitchen - Link Up #21 - Roast and easy homemade bread

Linking with my good friend Carrie @YoungLivingOilLady to encourage families to get back to the table!
Food made at home with the family is healthier and families spending time in the kitchen together is fabulous.

This week from our house:

Chuck Roast with veggies and homemade bread!

Season a generous roast (left overs are yummy too) with sea salt, garlic, pepper and olive oil
Put one cup water in bottom of pan for juices - and put in 350 oven to cook for 1 1/2 hours

Chop celery, onions, potatoes and carrots to add to roast (or cook potatoes separately and smash 'em)
Add chopped veggies to roast pan in juices and cover with foil - cook for another hour - hour and half.

Easy Bread
Mix 3 cups non-bleached (whole grain if possible) flour in bowl with 2 tsp oil + 2 tsp active dry yeast + 2 tsp honey + 1 1/2 tsp salt + 3 tbs dry milk - 1 cup warm water-  roll in ball and place in greased bowl covered with towel to rise for 30 min - 1 hour - punch down & lay out on greased/ floured counter to knead for 5 - 10 times. Place in greased bread pan, covered on top of stove to rise for 15 minutes -
cook in 300 oven- 16 min or desired crust color is reached (I turned down the roast and cooked together)

Enjoy with butter and your family!
