Kids in the Kitchen - Linky #38 - Venison Tacos

Welcome to Kids in the Kitchen - our weekly recipe link up hosted by me and my good friend Carrie @YoungLivingOilLady

We get together each week to bring you recipes and inspiration to get together with your family and spend time in the kitchen.

Our family is learning to cook healthier foods - one baby step at a time - we get lots of good healthy recipes linked up each week and some plain 'ole fun ones too.

I encourage you to use time in the kitchen in your homeschool too. It's a great way to enhance your homeschool day. Budgeting, kitchen math, life skills,  reading, nutrition and more are a great addition to your homeschool curriculum. It's also a wonderful way to get your family talking and opening up to each other. We love cooking recipes from countries and states we are studying. Are you using cooking with the kids in your homeschool?

This week:

Venison Tacos

1/2 lbs ground venison - from the wild
grated cheese
shredded/ chopped lettuce
onions- chopped
optional - sour cream and tomatoes
home grown dried chili peppers - ground
tortillas - corn or flour (when we use corn - we bake them in the oven until crisp)

A couple of willing helpers and a crazy nutty son to grate cheese

Brown meat in skillet, drain any fat (venison is usually naturally lean)
season with chili powder - salt and pepper to taste
spoon into tortillas - add toppings of choice
