Kids in the Kitchen - Link Up #40 - Better Butter

Each week I join forces with my friend Carrie @YoungLivingOilLady
to bring you this Kids in the Kitchen family recipe link up - We are all about encouraging
families to cook and eat together. Real food, verses the fake processed stuff is always best.
We believe that food is usually healthier when families get in the habit of cooking regularly together.

This week in our family:

We took a trip to the dairy farm this week - It was not only one of the best ever field trips, but we got to make our own butter from fresh cream!

How cool is THAT?

Pure fresh cream (grain fed, antibiotic and hormone free cows) in a jar with a marble or two and shake shake shake!

Then a little bit of shake shake shake some more - the whey separates from the cream as the butter begins to solidify & you just drain it off.

I am terribly sorry though, once the butter was ready - I threw the camera down - knocked over some kids and enjoyed it right there on the farm with the cows.

I did take the time to spread it on some crackers first. It was delicious!
I brought home plenty of cream, so we can make more.

What have you been up to in the kitchen this week?
