Kids in the Kitchen 56 -Yummy Lemon Pepper Chicken

I join forces with my good friend Carrie @YoungLivingOilLady each week
to bring you this family friendly recipe link up. It is our desire to encourage
families to cook and eat together. Meals cooked at home are healthier, and time
spent together in the kitchen is good for families!

We use Cooking 101 as part of our family homeschool. I’m teaching the boys to
put together healthy family meals, life skills, and budgeting, as well as teaching them tips for cooking in the kitchen. We encourage real food vs. processed food. Let’s bring the family, back to the table!

This week:

         Yummy Lemon Pepper Chicken

We buy big packs of chicken on sale, so we are always looking for new yummy ways to cook them. One simple way of letting the kids help is to put the spices - lemon pepper, garlic, salt - in a side dish and then let your child spread it all over the chicken with a spoon. This way there is no threat of over salting and such.

Then drizzle olive oil all over it and place in a hot oven at 350 for about an hour. Check after 45 minutes to make sure it isn't burning. Teach kids to always make sure chicken is cooked through. Juices should run clear when you cut into the center of the chicken.

We served our Yummy Lemon Pepper Chicken with fried okra (cooked in coconut oil), and pinto beans.

Join us by linking up your favorite family recipes! Grab a button from below, on my side bar, or use a text link back to Adventurez. Please visit another participant or more to help encourage each other. I’ll be visiting and Pinning away on our Kids in the Kitchen Pinterest board here. It’s a wonderful resource for finding yummy recipes the whole family will love. Enjoy your time in the kitchen this week!

Thanks for hosting, friend! :-) We buy chicken in big packs, too, so I am always on the lookout for a tasty new chicken recipe. I am sharing my daughter's smiley face cookies this week. She had such a great time making them for us! :-)
